Round Table Mass Tour Of New Zealand 2011


Discover the unique beauty of this South Pacific Island nation famous around the world for its friendly hospitable people.
The Association of Round Tables N.Z. and its members, in association with the Trustees of the Nevill Bullock Trust, and members of N.Z. 41 Clubs, invites all members of RTI/WOCO and their partners, to join the 14th running of this very popular biannual tour which continues to be subsidised by proceeds from the Nevill Bullock Trust.

The tour will run for 14 days from Wednesday the 2nd March until Tuesday 15th March 2011.

Day 1
Wednesday

2nd March

Haere mai! Welcome to Auckland, New Zealand's largest city and known as the 'City of Sails'. There is so much to see and do that it is best to plan your arrival a few days before the official start of the tour. Meet your fellow travellers at the welcome dinner in the evening. Hotel stopover in the centre of the city.

Day 2 
Thursday

3rd March

All aboard your luxury coach for the trip down to the Coromandel Peninsula with its awesome scenery, white sandy beaches, hot pools, boating and fishing. Overnight hotel stay.

Friday
        
4th March

On to Tauranga, renowned as the fastest growing city in NZ. The warm dry climate makes it popular with holiday makers who enjoy the white surf beaches along the coast. Home hosting tonight by Tauranga RT.

Day 4 
Saturday

5th March

A short journey to the popular tourist town of Rotorua, a geothermal paradise with geysers, hot mud pools and steaming craters. Hotel stopover tonight with some cultural activities.

Day 5 
Sunday

6th March

At around midday, we board our flight to Blenheim in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand's largest wine growing region. The region has gained international acclaim as having the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world. Blenheim RT are your hosts for tonight.

Day 6 
Monday

7th March

A beautiful coastal journey via Kaikoura to your destination Christchurch, quintessentially English in appearance with elegant buildings and lovely parks and gardens. Home hosting.

Day 7
Tuesday 

8th March

On board our coach for the two hour journey to Timaru. This busy coastal port and holiday resort is the gateway to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the Central South Island. Home Hosting.

Day 8
Wednesday 

9th March

Today your coach travels down the coastal highway via Oamaru and Dunedin to your destination Balclutha which lies where the mighty Clutha River divides into the Matau and Koau branches and provides some of New Zealand’s best brown trout fishing. Home Hosting.

Day 9
Thursday 

10th March

A scenic journey to Te Anau situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Te Anau, known as the walking capital of NZ. There will be time to maybe explore the glowworm caves. Hotel.

Day 10
Friday

11th March

An early start today for your trip into Milford Sound and a world renowned cruise followed by a scenic journey to Queenstown around NZs deepest lake, Lake Wakatipu. Settle into your hotel accommodation and relax in this sophisticated alpine resort town. Hotel

Day 11
Saturday

12th March

Get ready for the world's most exciting jet boat ride today! Back to Queenstown in the afternoon and dinner at the Skyline restaurant. Hotel.

Day 12
Sunday

13th March

A full day's journey through the spectacular McKenzie Country, past lakes Pukaki and Tekapo and views of Mt Cook. Travel across the Canterbury Plains to your destination Christchurch. Home hosting.

Day 13
Monday

14th March

In Christchurch and a chance to visit some of the many tourist attractions the South Island's largest city has to offer. Tonight is the farewell function, a night of nostalgia and friendship. Hotel.

Day 14
Tuesday

15th March

Farewell brunch and departures. If you are staying on beyond today please request help with any arrangements.
